As a matter of fact, more than 57,000 beluga whales patrol the arctic and sub-arctic waters around the Hudson Bay each summer.
In addition, we can optionally sail the waters of the Churchill River, where we will observe belugas and have the opportunity to listen while they communicate themselves, thanks to the sonar boat, and even sail in a Zodiac type boat to watch them almost from the water surface. Belugas are also known as "Sea Canaries" for their strange high-pitched whistles, clicking, chirping and other underwater vocalizations.

What used to be a bustling hub for fur traders was later reinvented into a stone fortification when peace was threatened between England and France.
