Flights in turboprop planes over the mountains, glaciers, ice seas and the tundra of the Baffin Island to arrive to the Inuit population called Qikiqtarjuaq, that in Inuktitut language means "The big island". From this small Inuit population would start the expedition with skis to Akshayuk Pass in 2008. Qikiqtarjuaq formerly known as Broughton Island is located in the Nunavut province in the Canadian Arctic. The first of the flights arrives to another Inuit population called Pangnirtung also located in Qikiqtarjuaq, in the Baffin Island.
