Specialists in Iceland
Francesc Bailon, collaborator and friend of Arctic World, polar traveller and anthropologist has been the advisor of Inuit culture in the film Nobody wants the night, directed by filmmaker Isabel Coixet, which premiere will be n November 27, 2015.
Francesc has been for more than two years working in the film and he was advising the actors and actresses as the departments of art, costumes, makeup, special effects, directing and film production.
He was also present at the location shooting that took place in Finse (Norway) and advised the script writer Miguel Barros.
Francesc Bailon is currently considered one of the leading specialists in Inuit culture in the world and his works are: The Inuit. Hunters of the Far North (Nova Publishing, September 2015) and Poets of the Arctic. Greenland Stories (Nova Publishing, December 2015).
This last book explains precisely the true story of the two protagonists of the film: Josephine Peary (Juliette Binoche) and Allaka (Rinko Kikuchi).
The film is based on real characters, but the story takes place between 1908 and 1909 is fictitious. No doubt this project, unprecedented in the Spanish cinema, is a good opportunity to get closer to a fascinating and unknown ethnicity as the Inuit people.
