We will make some routes by boat and on foot in the remote East Greenland coast through the biggest fjords of Angmagssalik. Easy hiking on tundra, along lakes and the Great Greenland polar icecap, the second biggest ice mass on Earth. Visit tiny villages almost uninhabited. Chances of sighting whales, seals, polar bears and other arctic wildlife.
TRAVEL PROGRAM
Day 1
- Flight country of residence - Reykjavik.
- Transfer international airport - Reykjavik.
- Dinner at your own.
- Accommodation in Reykjavik.
Day 2
- Breakfast at your own.
- Transfer at your own to the Reykjavik domestic airport.
- Flight Reykjavik - Kulusuk (East Greenland coast).
- Visit the tiny village of Kulusuk with 290 inhabitants located in the island of the same name.
- Dinner at an Inuit local house.
- Accommodation at an Inuit local house in Kulusuk.
Day 3
- Breakfast at an Inuit local house.
- Sailing by local boat from Kulusuk to Tiniteqilaq thorough the great Angmagssalik fjord. We will sail close to Ikasartivaq fjord, the access to the traditional tiny village of Tiniteqilaq with around 250 inhabitants.
- Comida picnic durante la ruta.
- Picnic lunch during route.
- Visit of Tiniteqilaq village. This area is one of the few places in the world where still is used the dogsled as a main way of transport in the winter season.
- Dinner at an Inuit local house.
- Accommodation at an Inuit local house in Tiniteqilaq.
Day 4
- Breakfast at an Inuit local house.
- Trekking through the isthmus where is settled Tiniteqilaq village until we reach the top of a mountain of 400 metres high above the sea level. From up here we will see the great Sermilik, a big fjord flooded by icebergs as huge as buildings that born from three glaciers very productive: Helheim, Apuserajik and Midgar glaciers.
- Picnic lunch during route.
- Accommodation at a mountain cabin, with large windows from where we can see the Sermilik fjord in Tiniteqilaq Mountain, and the Northern Lights in the Greenlandic sky.
Day 5
- Breakfast at an Inuit local house.
- Sailing southward by local boat along the great Sermilik fjord, skirting the big island of Angmagssalik.
- During the route, we will observe the ancient icebergs. Spectacular photos guaranteed!
- Picnic lunch during the route.
- During this coastal sailing is very common meeting huge icebergs wander drift coming from a very long glacier face located hundreds of kilometres north of our position.
- In the evening arrival to Kulusuk.
- Dinner at an Inuit local house.
- Accommodation at an Inuit local house in Kulusuk.
Day 6
- Desayuno en casa local Inuit.
- Breakfast at an Inuit local house.
- Free day to rest, relax, strolling around Kulusuk or making optional activities like a route by local boat to Sermiligaq fjord to see the Karale and Knud Rasmussen glaciers that meet at the end of the fjord. This is one of place on Earth where is possible to see most clearly the enormous receding (several kilometres) of the glaciers happened during the last 10 years.

- Accommodation at an Inuit local house in Kulusuk.
Day 7
- Breakfast at an Inuit local house.
- Flight Kulusuk - Reykjavik.
- Transfer to your accommodation in Reykjavik at your own.
- Dinner at your own.
- Accommodation in Reykjavik.
Day 8
- Transfer Reykjavik - International airport.
- Flight Reykjavik - Country of residence.
